What is it about?

This paper explores an episode of "satanic panic" in South Africa between 1978 and 1982, a period during which there was significant political flux in the ruling National Party government and anxiety among white South Africans. We argue that the satanic moral panic reflected the doubt that many white South Africans had in the National Party and the morality of apartheid.
