What is it about?
Anticoagulation therapy is necessary for heart surgery. However some patient have clotting disorder. Normal medicinal management is not adequate for those patients. We report our experience of anticoagulation management for patient with antiphospholipid syndrome.

Why is it important?
Currently, there is no standardized anticoagulation protocol during heart surgery for patients with clotting disorder. We combined two indexes for monitoring clotting state during operation. In our patient, Sonoclot was useful as a supplemental tool for evaluation of the entire coagulation process. Monitoring by Sonoclot signal curves may contribute to creating a standardized protocol for anticoagulation therapy during heart operation.
Perspectives
I hope this article help someone`s treatment, or contribute to creating a standardized protocol for anticoagulation therapy during heart operation.
