What is it about?
Gold nanoparticles are a potential biomolecular label. We have successfully employed laser scanning photothermal microscopy for the first time to detect and image gold nanoparticles having size as small a 5 nm c at fast time scales with only 80 microseconds pixel dwell time. The technique could be useful in biomolecular imaging, photothermal therapy, targeted cell destruction etc
