What is it about?
How silencing spreads from cell to cell and systemically in plants
Featured Image
Why is it important?
Because there is a large bibliography with some great areas. It is also important because this ability gives plant the advantage to use RNA silencing as an adaptive immune system.
Perspectives
There is still a lot to learn about spread of silencing in plants, including the role of individual protein players, of plasmodesmata. Also, it still not clear what is the systemic signal of Post Transcriptional Gene silencing.
