What is it about?

We synthesized the microspheres containing triple antibiotics: minocycline, metronidazole, and ciprofloxacin. These microspheres showed an adequate release rate, optimal antibacterial efficacy against Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, and no cytotoxicity.

Why is it important?

our findings show that the triple antibiotics-containing microspheres can be effective as a suitable alternative to systemic antibiotic therapy for the treatment of periodontal infections, as they provide localized, controlled, and sustained release of drugs.
