What is it about?

Most studies on the effects on intensive blood pressure control in CKD patients have shown a paradoxical effect: the lesser the achieved blood pressure, the higher the morbimortality registered.

Why is it important?

Intensive blood pressure control should be avoided in CKD patients.

Perspectives

Most studies are retrospective. Prospective trials on the intensive control of diastolic blood pressure (specially in high pulse pressure patients) are needed.
