Why is it important?

The evaluation results show that the research training programme has been a positive social experience, and show that research training can be an important element not only to improve knowledge of how to do research but also to improve the group building and group cohesion and to better understand how to provide support to people with intellectual disabilities in inclusive researches. There are not many research programmes addressed to people with intellectual disabilities so the one presented with their evaluation can help to reflect on this kind of programmes.

Perspectives

This paper intends to be a contribution to inclusive research, dealing with one of the elements that are expected to improve research capacity of people with intellectual disabilities and also of people who must provide support in these processes. The evaluation of the research training programme brings about the reflection on the true participation of people with intellectual disabilities in research and how to find proper ways to improve it.
