Why is it important?
The relationship between critical care nurses' cognitive bias in decision-making and leadership styles is under-researched. Hence, shared understanding of the relationship between cognitive bias, decision-making and leadership styles among critical care nurses are needed to advance nurse education, management and practice worldwide.
Perspectives
The findings of this study should encourage further research into links between gender and critical care nurses perceived cognitive bias, rational decision-making, and democratic leadership styles.
