Why is it important?

Small-scale fisheries constitute an important source of mortality for coastal sharks. Captures were composed essentially of neonates and juveniles sharks affecting then their populations in the area

Perspectives

Given the paucity of data on impact of small-scale fisheries on sharks in the mediterranean Sea, this study will improve our understanding of shark bycatch and stimulates research activities on this topic in the Mediterranean Sea.
