"This study was a quasi-experiment using a split convenience group in the same hybrid quantitative reasoning (management science) course (n = 81); all factors were identical, including materials, instructor, assessment—except the teaching approach for tutorials. The control group used weekly problem-based learning tutorials with Socratic questions in an asynchronous discussion forum (the traditional modality). The test group used the same tutorial questions but this was delivered during weekly synchronous Skype sessions." (p. 18)
