What is it about?
Paper addresses Cynthia Enlloe's challenge "Where are the women?" within the context of the International Studies Association, a professional association. We show that women are relatively more present in the profession than in relevant academic journals, and also that women are more present in certain substantive sections of the association than in others.

Why is it important?
It helps to show that women are present within the discipline and begs the question why women aren't publishing more often in academic journals. It also indirectly addresses the "leaky pipeline" phenomenon (in which women drop out of the profession at much greater rates than their male colleagues).
