What is it about?

Proteinases are very important enzymes for Lactobacilli since they are multiple auxotrophs. There are few types of proteinases in lactobacilli: PrtP, PrtB, PrtH, PrtR.... We found that some strains of L. plantarum possess PrtP proteinase for first time.

Why is it important?

Proteinase PrtP was for first time detected in L. plantarum strains

Perspectives

This result encourages us to continue work on proteinase in other lactobacilli species in order to see presence of another types of proteinases genes.
