What is it about?

Newly qualified teachers have different learning backgrounds and motivations for their own professional learning. These can be considered along an expansive to restrictive individual learning disposition continuum.

Why is it important?

By considering a newly qualified teacher's individual learning disposition their first year in teaching can be better adapted to them rather than trying to force a one size fits all approach.

Perspectives

This article came from my PhD research and I hope it contributes to understanding people's differing approaches to their own professional learning.
