What is it about?

Assessed the discriminant validity of the Job-Related Tension Scale (R. L. Kahn et al, 1964) by means of confirmatory factor analysis. Two models were compared among 167 adult workers. The 1st model hypothesized that the Job-Related Tension Scale and the Role Conflict and Ambiguity Scales (J. R. Rizzo et al, 1970) measure the same 2 underlying factors. According to the 2nd model, these 2 indices measure 4 distinct underlying factors. Goodness-of-fit indices for both models show that the 4-factor model is more appropriate for the data. Results support the discriminant validity of the Job-Related Tension Scale.
