What is it about?

This is a case report demonstrating the utility of use cerebral oximetry in pediatric cardiac surgery. The cerebral oximeter was able to detect a diminishment in flow in this patients Blalock-Taussign shunt.

It shows the importance of using the cerebral oximeter. The cerebral oximeter was the first monitor to show that anything was awry with this patient, allowing for earlier intervention.
