What is it about?
Parkinson's disease (PD) and MSA (Multiple Systemic Atrophy) are neuron-degenerative disorders affecting several organ system, including the lower urinary tract. It is important for the practicing Urologist to appreciate the similarities and differences between teh two conditions that ultimately affect patient management. Our review aims to summarize the salient points on diagnosis and treatment of various LUTS that manifest in PD and MSA.

Why is it important?
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common neuron-degenerative disorder affecting about 1% of adults over the age of 60 worldwide.
Perspectives
It was a very interesting project that I gladly undertook shortly before achieving my board exams and register as a Specialist. This review provided valuable insight into Neuro-Urology and Functional Urology, both of which are quite challenging fields in contemporary practice.
