Why is it important?

This research, published in 1990, gives an insight into the vocational decision-making and psychological adjustment of persons who have experienced a major life-changing (indeed, traumatic) life event. I anticipate that the issues discussed in this article are still relevant today.

Perspectives

When I wrote this article, I had been working in the vocational rehabilitation field, and in particular with persons with SCI. This article was pitched to occupational therapists. It is likely to be of interest to other professionals working in the rehabilitation field.
