Why is it important?
Different from elsewhere, heart transplant recipients in Taiwan had no skin cancer or Kaposi's sarcoma, only solid tumors in prostate, liver, and urinary bladder, overall incidences 2.1%, 3.6%, and 10.1% at 1st, 5th, and 10th year.
Perspectives
In the future the data could include the cases of Mainland China ro encompass a more comprehensive whole picture of "Chinese" patients. Taiwanese are mostly Southeastern ethnic Chinese and have aboriginal non-Chinese ethnic mixture and great Japanese influence, and also a very different healthcare, cultural, and socioeconomic characteristics from Mainland China.
