What is it about?
There have been a lot of studies on postoperative deep vain thrombosis after gynecologic surgeries but we have found few studies on pulmonary embolism just after surgeries. And we conducted a study on the subject.

Why is it important?
The present study is important because little is known about the identifying pulmonary embolism in the early postoperative phase.
Perspectives
During the study period, we mainly used chest X-rays and lung scans to detect cases of pulmonary embolism, and we conducted a even newer study on post-operative pulmonary embolism using MDCT angiography. We also would like to read an article named "Early Identification of Asymptomatic Pulmonary Embolism Proximal to the Subsegmental Arteries After Gynecologic Surgery. Okadome M, et al. Clin Appl Thromb Hemost. 2016 Jan;22(1):34-41."
