Why is it important?

Very little attention has been given to Annie Dillard's theology, especially with respect to her more recent work For The Time Being. This paper offers an analysis of her treatment of providence and the problem of evil across three of her major works.

Perspectives

This paper was instrumental in my own grappling with the reality of divine providence. Looking at Annie Dillard alongside of more traditional Christian voices allowed me to dwell on the mystery of evil in God's world.
