What is it about?
H. pylori also contributes to the development of extradigestive diseases, including vascular, autoimmune, and dermatological diseases, by causing the release of various proinflammatory and vasoactive substances. It has also been associated with some eye diseases, such as blepharitis, glaucoma, and idiopathic central serous chorioretinopathy.Although there are many studies based on the availability of H. pylori in glaucoma patients, there are no studies related to the availability of glaucoma in H. pylori-positive populations

Why is it important?
In fact, H. pylori infection is not just an infection that involves the gastrointestinal tract; it is a multisystemic infection that can cause various end-organ damage. Glaucoma should be considered as a possible preliminary diagnosis in H. pylori-positive individuals. H. pylori infection should be eradicated without an opportunity to cause permanent damage in retinal nerve fiber layer.
Perspectives
I hope that this study provides an awareness of glaucoma research in helicobacter pylori positive individuals
