Why is it important?
To prevent morbidity and mortality of cardiovascular disease is important for chronic hemodialysis patients. Medical surveillance and treatment of mitral valve regurgitation may reduce incidence and prevalence of pulmonary hypertension, and may also provide potential therapy for heart failure in chronic hemodialysis patients.
