What is it about?

The pumping test in the most common technique for assessing hydraulic properties in aquifers and groundwater systems. Here, we develop a new method for analyzing pumping test data, by smoothing the rate of the drawdown response vs time (derivative) using our own algorithm, based on B-splines. He used preexistent and new pumping tests to show the advantages of our method.

Our analysis can provide reliable pumping test analysis using advanced methods, to further estimate properties in aquifers that can ultimately will improve water management for human, irrigation and industrial sources.
