Why is it important?
In the EOL period, a multidisciplinary team, which includes care managers, is created to provide the best care. The EOLCM scale consisted of 23 items from four factors: “further the teamwork to realize the individual’s wishes,” “rapid care planning that anticipated changes in the situation,” “support to family members preparing for end-of-life care at home,” and “support to become familiar with the older adult’s views of life, death, and suffering.” This scale showed reliability and validity. However, cross-validation has not been conducted to assess its validity in a different sample. If the scale’s validity was confirmed in a different sample, it could be considered to have cross-validation. Therefore, we examined the cross-validity of the EOLCM scale with care managers different from those who participated in the development of the scale.
