What is it about?

This study is about how do fish use temporary and permanent habitats in amazonian rainforest streams, and how their reproductive strategies (fecundity, egg size, spawning schedule, etc) affect this process.

Why is it important?

This is important because shows that the use of temporary pools is a strong process, probably related to fishes' life-history evolution.

Perspectives

I appreciate this study because it is a mix of simple conceptual background, field and literature data, and strong and up-to-date analysis. Although analytically sophisticated, the results are visually rich and straightforward, and the discussion is full of natural history perspectives.
