Why is it important?
For clinical practice, semi-permeable dressings with Safetac™ technology may provide additional advantages related to a faster and more effective healing of radiation-induced radiodermatitis. Furthermore, this entails the potential added benefits related to improvement of quality of life and patient comfort associated with symptomatic relief.
Perspectives
The research question was: “In patients with cancer who experience radiation-induced skin toxicity, effectiveness of semi-permeable dressings, compared to other topical treatments reduces the radiodermatitis and improve the management?”. The response to this question enables nurses to provide quality comprehensive care.
