Why is it important?

The study demonstrated that this type of collaborative approach increases learning in the content areas, as well as provides a rich environment for experience in cross-disciplinary teams.

Perspectives

I am not sure that anything like this has been published before. Certainly, we found no evidence of a similar attempt in the body of knowledge. I am particularly pleased that four professors and four distinct classes were involved. The coordination of so many constituencies certainly mimicked what our students are likely to see in the real world. In addition, we had some very strong finding supporting our hypothoses that learning would be enriched through this method.
