What is it about?
We estimated the proportion of French adults who ever heard of CBD (71%), who ever used it (16%), and who used it in the previous 12 months (10%). Younger people and tobacco users were more likely to use it, and smoking was the most reported route of administration.

Why is it important?
Estimating the extent of CBD use and identify people likely to use it may help to prevent CBD-related harms.
Perspectives
CBD use is not marginal in France. Proper prevention, regulation and control of CBD products is required to ensure that people have access to safe and high-quality products. Moreover, reliable information on CBD needs to be disseminated, especially regarding the harms which smoking CBD can cause.
