Why is it important?
This work presents and evaluates a new modification of hyoidthyroidpexy for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea using a single, absorbable, triangular suture.
Perspectives
The triangular suture is a simple modified technique using a single absorbable suture with good outcome in treating OSAS. The procedure is safe, well-tolerated by patients and has a readily progressive learning curve. It is an economic and less traumatic maneuver without using metal wires, miniplates, or screws. It could be combined with other procedures in multilevel surgery.
