What is it about?

Dental implants were placed in 66 patients HIV positive but controlled patients. Delayed prosthetic loading was performed at 3 months in maxilla and 2 months in mandible. A total of 190 fixtures were placed in 66 patients. Data were recorded before the surgery and follow up was established at 6 months and at 12 months

15 fixtures were lost, which caused a prosthetic failure only in 2 patients

Perspectives

Within the limitation of this study, implanto-prosthetic rehabilitations outcome in HIV patients is good.Please remind that a protocol for infection control is mandatory
