What is it about?

Undersized dental implants 3,3x8 were placed in edentulous areas. A particular micromotor was used for the surgery: innovative technology allowed to record specific torque values during. 15 minutes after, implants were removed and replaced with others having appriopriate size accirding to the bone volume present in the area. Specimens were than treated for optical microscopic investigation

Why is it important?

There is significant correlation between insertion torque and bone implant contact

Perspectives

It was a pleasure to use this innovative micromotor and understand the influence of implant insertion related parameters on implant osseointegration
