What is it about?
The book under review is an extensive coverage of many environmental issues in Canada with an emphasis on the political institutional context in which decisions about pollution, for example, are made. There is very good coverage of such decision-making processes in the Canadian federal context, i.e., the roles of the national and provincial governments, as well as non-governmental organisations.

Why is it important?
The current (late 2010s) environmental issues, especially global climate change, remain largely unresolved and this book provides a lot of answers as to why this is the case.
Perspectives
The book tends to be inclusive and somewhat encyclopedic in nature, without that much real analysis. Also missing is the viewpoint of critical geography.
