Antidepressant‐like effects of BU10119, a novel buprenorphine analogue with mixed κ/μ receptor antagonist properties, in mice

What is it about?

We have tested a new chemical compound in mice. The changes in behaviour seen in the mice suggest that this new compound could be a useful antidepressant. Importantly, this new compound targets a different brain pathway to existing antidepressant treatments - the opioid system.
