What is it about?

In summary, for the first time, we showed the protective actions of ACE2 activator, DIZE, in preventing the progression of DN through restoring ACE2 expression and by increasing AT2R expression in glomeruli of diabetic animals. DIZE administration decreased the expression of fibrotic markers like TGF-β, fibronectin and collagen and apoptosis markers like cleaved Caspase-3 and cleaved PARP. These results suggest the protective role of DIZE in DN. Thus, further studies are required to know the complete mechanism of action of DIZE in preventing diabetic nephropathy.
