What is it about?
Morroniside, derived from the medicinal herb Cornus officinalis, is an atypical secoiridoid. Our data, for the first time, demonstrated that morroniside is an orthosteric agonist of GLP-1 receptors apparently without species difference among mouse, rat, and human, and produces mechanical antiallodynia and thermal antihyperalgesia in neuropathy via activation of spinal GLP-1 receptors.
