What is it about?

A 30-year-old man presented with progressive visual field defect, headache and nausea. He had a history of occipital area blunt head injury three months. Due to a progression of his symptoms ( visual field defect and dizziness, epidural hemorrhage was suspected. Unexpectedly, the operating neurosurgeon found a tumor mass instead of hematoma.

Why is it important?

Myeloid sarcoma (MS) may develop de novo. Intracranial MS is very rare and isolated intracranial MS is even rarer. Awareness of this entity and application of adequate ancillary IHC panels can help to establish the diagnosis.
