What is it about?

While Marks' Vividness of Visual Imagery questionnaire is commonly used to assess vividness of visual imagery, Bett's Imagery Scale contained sections for other modalities, but is very outdated. We have updated it and present two studies to test its validity.

Why is it important?

Mental Imagery is more than just visual imagery. The Psi-Q also measures vividness of Auditory, Taste, Smell, Touch, Body, and Emotional Imagery. These are important components of intrusive or spontaneous imagery that is typical of many psychological disorders.

Perspectives

The scale has been taken up by researchers around the world and they have contributed translations in many languages, available from our website (see the Resources section on the right).
