Why is it important?

Social capital is increasingly being developed online and students from disadvantaged backgrounds are often not as skilled at developing such capital - this will enable Universities to reduce the discrepancy between different types of students, enabling all to make the most of their online social capital.

Perspectives

Students tend to think they know a lot about online social networking, but they are not very award of the implications of building good social capital for their future careers.
