What is it about?

Sericin is a protein from silkworm cocoons, that can acts as an antioxidant. We have shown that sericin can increase the percentage of buffalo oocytes that reached the MII phase. Other than that, sericin is also able to support cytoplasmic maturation in oocytes.

Why is it important?

Our findings show that ultrastructure of oocytes matured was similar between the groups with and without sericin. This finding suggests that sericin has no effect on the ultrastructure of the organelles of buffalo oocytes.

Perspectives

Writing this article is very proud for me. This article is a part of the research I have been working on for a long time about in vitro embryos production of buffalo. More than anything else, and if nothing else, I hope you find this article thought-provoking.
