What is it about?
We evaluated whether body fat content affects the energetic metabolism and growth in pacu submitted to fasting and refeeding and found that the higher deposition of lipids in fish does not mean higher availability of energy for growth when compensatory growth is stimulated by refeeding after fasting.

Why is it important?
We showed that fat and lean fish respond similarly to fasting and refeeding.
Perspectives
I hope this work can help fish producers the feeding handling to obtain higher productivity.
