Why is it important?

The other related studies have considered the relationships between demographic variables and PIU and the relationship between the purposes of Internet use and PIU. However, further research might support the findings about the relationships among these variables, the purposes of Internet use, and PIU. Consequently, this study has two aims: first, to examine the purposes of Internet use among Turkish high school students according to their gender, FIU, GPA, and F-income, and second, to investigate whether any of these variables predict PIU.

Perspectives

this study contributes to the existent literature not only by comparing the relationship between demographic variables and purposes of Internet use but also by examining the relationship between demographic variables, purposes of Internet use, and PIU. This study is also important as it draws on recent research from different countries and cultures to discuss its findings.
