What is it about?

The study investigates the role of positive and negative affect and positive orientation in the realization of goals concerning entrepreneurs’ work and family life. We examine personal goals of entrepreneurs using a multilevel perspective. It enables investigating mechanisms related to goal realization at the within and between individual level simultaneously.

Why is it important?

The research contributes to the understanding of how the characteristics of entrepreneurs and of their goals relate to effective goal realization. The findings confirm that positive orientation and the positive affect accompanying specific goal is positively related to entrepreneurs’ striving to achieve particular goals, while negative goal-related affect is negatively related to goal realization.

Perspectives

The analysis of specific personal goals that entrepreneurs pursue seems to be closer to their daily life than the analysis of other broader constructs.
