What is it about?
Even though GBS meningitis features high morbidity rates, there hasn't been any extensive research in how the outcome relates to the lesions seen on brain imaging.

Why is it important?
The association between cranial ultrasound (CUS) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) lesions and neonatal Group B streptococcal meningitis outcome has not been studied in detail. We assessed cranial ultrasound and MRI images in 50 neonates with neonatal GBS meningitis.
Perspectives
This was my first article I had to write and was delighted that I got the chance to work with experienced neonatologist from 3 different hospitals. I hope this article provides new insights in how radiological findings can aid in the work- and follow-up of neonatal GBS meningitis.
