Urban Transformations to Keep All the Same: The Power of Ivy Discourses

What is it about?

This paper examines why the discourse pf urban transformation to date has failed to deliver radical change towards social justice and environmental protection in cities. We use the metaphor of the ivy to explain how urban transformations, as an ivy discourse, reproduces rather than challenges knowledge systems and relations that sustain hegemony.
