What is it about?

A rerospective study of using clinical presenttion of gllstone panreatitis using , serum lipase /upper normal , alanin transferase level ,presence of gall stone in radiology and or histopatholgy .ten types were identified including the classic gallstone pancreatitis. litrritur review found that theses types also differ in their pathogenesis .

Why is it important?

Recognising these different types is helpful in diagnosis. For example, neither is the presence of a gallstone in gallbladder ultrasound is definite proof that the case is GSP, nor is its absence proof that the case is not GSP. It is also helpful in adopting the appropriate management of each type, which may or may not follow British society gastro enterology guidline .

Perspectives

surgeon and gastroenterologist need to be aware that gallstone pancreatitis is more than the classic gall stone pancreatitis and be familiar with this classification.I hope the classification could help better understanding and managemenet of gallstone pancreatitis
