splenic injury from colonoscopy is presumed to be be a rare complication but it it is in fact less rare than mny doctors believe .we identified 160 reports with 218 case since 1974 . further more the real number could be much higher up to 1/6000 cases of colonoscopy according to previous report

it is important to raise awareness of important possible complication by the endoscopist so they take precausions , the patients should know of this rare complication and not srprised and the emergency doctors when facing symptoms following colonoscopy remeber this possiblity . all that can save live
