the question of acute surgical unit suitability for regional centre could be answered by determining the size and facilities of the regional centre as not all regional centres are the same . in reality the are many logestic and practical issues that make the acute surgical unit unsuitable and counter productive in some small centres .the article gives examples of obsticles to adopting such practice .

any fashionable new policy or practice promoted by any big teaching hospitals dosnt mean neceesorily means it applicable or useful for small gospital which have limited resources .
