What is it about?
Ethnographic poetry based on my work with African refugees in refugee camps in Sicily.

Why is it important?
My ethnographic poetry explicates the real conditions of refugees in refugee camps in Sicily--it explicates a particular experience that most people are not privy to.
Perspectives
This poem was written after spending many hours with a young Sengalese man in the camps. He was scared, but tried very hard to be strong.
