What is it about?

It is believed that circumcision performed at the age of 2-6 years can lead to premature ejaculation.

Why is it important?

Rather than debating the physical merits and drawbacks of circumcision, in this study, we primarily investigated the effects of age at which circumcision is performed on erectile dysfunction (ED), especially on premature ejaculation (PE). Our main hypothesis is that being circumcised during the phallic phase is not an independent risk factor for PE.

Perspectives

The age of childhood circumcision does not affect the risk of PE and erectile dysfunction in adult life. Also having a fearful or anxious circumcision experience has no affect on the risk of PE and erectile dysfunction in adult life.
