Why is it important?
The study examined community members' knowledge of family violence services, help seeking behaviour for family violence, the perceived barriers and enabling factors to accessing family violence services and community members' expectations of family violence support provided by local health services.
Perspectives
I believe the study provides useful learnings for rural health services and other local support services around their role in providing support for family violence and how they offer that support. There are a number of areas where follow on research is possible, especially around concepts of safety and how services might provide a range of options for clients / patients to reach out for support. Hope you find it interesting.
